Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I came across a situation during inputting the penalties for the kids who get checking penalties in the Atom division, that there is no "checking" to pick from the list of possible penalties to assess to the players. Please clarify what you would like us to state as the penalty or does it matter what penalty we state?

We have now added a “Checking “ penalty to the list of offences. In addition I also added a penalty “Other (Minor)” to the list is something unknown like this comes up. Please email Mike Miller if you discover other penalty offences that are not listed.

I noticed teams were inputting 2 minute penalties on the website game sheets so I did some snooping around and noticed that there is only 2, 4, 5, and 10 minute selections. It is stated in the 1660 rules (Rule 7- Hockey Rules (H) to assess 3 minute penalties when playing run time and 2 minute penalties when playing stop time. If at all possible could you add a 3 minute penalty to the website as I have had a few questions about it.

We record any minor penalty as 2 minutes in the website. The reason being that we do not distort the penalty severity or the statistics for the players being assessed the minor penalties. Therefore, we ask that a 3 minute served penalty should still be recorded as a 2 minute minor on the website. It will have nothing to do with the time keepers or the game sheets as the actual game sheet will remain the official record of the offences with the 1660 league and with Hockey Alberta. The website will not be used for the review or assessment of penalties.

There was a problem with a team roster and numbers. I was waiting for it to get straighten out before I input the rest of the game sheet. Now the game is gone of the web site. Does this mean there will be no stats for this game? Or will you be able to put those stats in for us when the roster numbers from the team get straighten out?

Once a gamesheet has been entered only the Governor will be able to make changes to that game sheet. Please forward the detailed information to your governor for any changes requested.

When you say you want the gamesheet input “in its entirety” what do you want included? Score, goals, assists, penalties? I think we should lay this out so that everybody is doing it the same.

We would like all sections of the game sheet to be completed in its entirety including Score, Goals, Assists, and Penalties. CLICK HERE to see an example of a completed game sheet.

I have all sorts of confusion being new to the 1660 league. Some people are telling me we don't need to fax in our game sheets, and some say we do.

Game Sheets MUST be faxed to the Governor and Input into the website within 72 hours of the completion of the game.

I have tried to enter our first league gamesheet that occurred 4 days ago and I am not able to access the game sheet. This is the first time the gamesheet is being entered.

The home team only has 72 Hours from the time of the game to enter the game sheet. If the gamesheet does not get entered in the time period the teams will be locked out and will require the Governors Assistance. PLEASE remember to input your gamesheet within 72 Hours.

As a governor I have been asked to make some game stat corrections however it does not match the game sheet that was sent to me. I would think that I am not allowed to change the game stats once it has been signed by the referees?

You are right. No one is able to add or change a game sheet except the Referee that called the game. The stats are only what the referee put down on the game sheet. Even the time keepers are not allowed to add an assist if the referee does not tell them when they provide a number. Stats always can only be what is on the game sheet.

What is meant when the Arena is identified as TBA?

Hello Everyone, I am sure that you are all getting tired of our emails by now, however, I am receiving some really good questions that probably pertain to alot of teams and want to make sure that everyone understands. Wherever the rink is identified on your schedule as TBA (To Be Advised) this means that the game has no scheduled time and can be played at any time during the season. Due to the website restrictions we have put in a bogus date and time (usually 1:00am) just to show the game needs to be played as part of the league. It is the responsibility of the home team to initiate the scheduling of this game. The “Notice of Game Change” process should be used to complete this. Unfortunately our ice scheduler does not always have the available ice slots to be able to create the games for the entire season and ends up having to list some games as TBA. Please check your schedule to see if you have any TBA games (identified in the rink column). Just a word of caution is to get these games scheduled ASAP in order that teams are not trying to cram these in near the end of the season. I hope this make sense, however, if you have any further questions please feel free to email me. 1660 League vp@1660.ab.ca
